| ACT, SAT, & PSAT Information |

Juniors and seniors who plan to attend a
4-year college must take either the ACT or SAT entrance exam for admission. ACT Most students plan to take the ACT during April or June of their junior year. See the ACT website (listed below) for a list of colleges that require the writing test. Check the admission requirements of the colleges that you are interested in. Directions for online registration is available in the HS Library. www.actstudent.org SAT SAT Information can be found at www.collegeboard.org. Most colleges only require the ACT but check with Mrs. King if you have any questions. Students can get free online help preparing for either the ACT or SAT at these websites: http://www.number2.com and http://powerprep.com PSAT The PSAT is given to college-bound juniors in the fall of each year. This test measures verbal and mathematical aptitudes. The scores from the test give students information on their aptitudes compared to other college-bound juniors across the nation. The PSAT is also the qualifying test for the 2013 National Merit Scholarship competition. The 2011 fee is $14.00 and the test will be held on Wednesday, October 12th, 2011. Registration materials will be distributed in the English classes. |
