The Cedar Grove-Belgium Area School District is dedicated to fostering the intellectual, moral, cultural, emotional, social, and physical development of all students in a secure environment thereby enabling them to function effectively in society as competent, productive, caring, and responsible people.
demands commitment, exhibits selflessness,
accepts reality, yet seeks improvement everyday,
while keeping students at the forefront.
In response to the two student-involved shootings in Wisconsin over the past two days, we feel it is important to reach out to Cedar Grove-Belgium families, at this time, to reassure you that student and staff safety is an ongoing and important concern in our schools. We want you to know that we have safety plans in place that are continually reviewed in order to create a safe school environment. It is our responsibility to make sure that our students and staff are given the tools to react appropriately to events that threaten their safety. Our plans, procedures, and ongoing dialog with students highlight those tools in order that students and staff are readily familiar with them. School safety protocols are reviewed regularly, safety drills and discussions are conducted throughout the school year, and staff members receive training on threat preparation and response. In addition, as you may be aware, we have daily proactive measures in place, to maximize a safe learning environment for all.
